This is an excellent design book. You can use standard size printer paper for the designs (or use bond resume paper). I purchased years ago for my son and we had years of fun flying planes through the house and outdoors. I purchased again this year for my great nephew.

This book is fantastic! As I mentioned above, the most stunning part is that every design works with an unaltered 8 and a half by 11 sheet of paper. My favorite two designs are the Aerobat and the Canard Jet!

"Planes, Jets & Helicopters" is lots of fun and doesn't require anything more than the typical 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper. Gives good instructions on how to build AND how to throw the planes.This book makes a great way to have fun with the kids. Our [...] sons love this book. The planes vary from the simple spinning dart to a few slick jets. We first discovered this book at the library. With all the kid abuse toward the book we finally had to buy our own copy.I was also surprised at how much fun my inner engineer/crafty-person was having.My only complaint would be that we found a couple of instances in the book where the instructions referred to "point A" and there was no "point A" to be found. But with the figures/pictures it was easy enough to figure out.Overall... a lot of fun for the family and the engineer/child/crafty-person in you.

I've always loved making paper airplanes, and this book has plenty to choose from. Directions are mostly easy, though some are challanging. I taught a craft youth session making and flying these, from ages 6-12 and it was a hit. Even taught a little about aeronautics.

Too many of today's paper airplane how-to books are unnecessarily expensive and the planes require elaborate preprinted one-of-a-kind paper. This little gem is affordable, and the planes can be constructed from standard 81/2" x 11" sheets of paper. It's a great investment--fun for today and for tomorrow.

This is the first book in Anna Hackett’s exciting new sci-fi action adventure series Eon Warriors. I have to say that initially I had a few reservations, because the background of this book – insectoid aliens attacking earth and another alien, but humanoid species reluctantly coming to the rescue because the top commander of the alien warriors has fallen in love with a human female – sounded awfully like Anna Carven’s Dark Planet Warriors, down to the symbiont life form that protects those warriors and lets them form a black impenetrable armor.I think the biggest difference is the characterization of the main female protagonist, who is a kick-ass warrior in her own right. Through no fault of her own she has been sidelined by her own military commanders for political reasons (this also has a familiar ring) and is even serving a prison sentence. That’s when she is given the chance to rehabilitate herself; all she has to do is to abduct the commander of the Eon Warriors and bring him to help defend earth from the alien insect infestation. Although our protagonist Eve is aware that this is a suicide mission she agrees to undertake it, not only to save earth, but also her two sisters, who have been agitating on her behalf. Against all expectations she succeeds in abducting Commander Davion, but they crash on an inhospitable planet where they have to rely on each other for survival…I like how strong Anna’s heroine is and that she doesn’t have to rely on her man to save her, but is the one doing the saving. The story is fast-paced and exciting, with lots of great action sequences, interspersed with steamy hot scenes with another type of action.The ending felt a little sudden, but at the same time it set up the next story in the series nicely by introducing the two protagonists, one of whom is Eve’s sister Lara, who was pressured into a mission of her own in order to “save” Eve. I can’t wait to get my hands on her story.4+ stars, mostly because I find some of the specific ideas uncomfortably close to those of Anna Carven’s series…

Edge of Eon was non-stop and filled with Anna Hackett's classic action, sexy romance, and tough heroes and heroines. I quickly read this in one sitting and enjoyed following our characters as they battle the elements on the crazy Eon-made Hunter7. With dangerous animals, plants, and a shifting biome structure, Hunter7 is designed to test the strongest of the Eon Warriors. On top of that, Eve and Davion are also being hunted by the evil Kantos insect aliens. Like I said, non-stop.When it comes to badass heroines, Hackett always does it best, and I loved Eve. She's loyal and tough and she gives her all to complete a mission. After she's wrongfully imprisoned for her Captain's mistakes, Eve finds herself being blackmailed into saving Earth. Of course, she has no problem stopping the destruction of her planet but she doesn't expect to make it off the Eon warship alive. But Eve is pretty smart and she finds a way. Once she's met the War Commander Davion though she's shocked to realize how attracted she is to him.Davion himself is also intrigued by this Terran woman who seems different then what he was expecting. As our hero, Davion was great; he's protective of Eve but as a warrior he respects her skills and loves her strength. While the Eon have kept themselves separate from Earth since their first encounter, Davion never hesitates to stand by Eve's side.I did feel like Eve and Davion gave into their attraction pretty fast but it's all wrapped up in the adrenaline of running for their lives. There is a fated mates thread in this story but I liked that Eve and Davion fell for each other before they ever realized they were mates. There were hints that their connection was deeper than just lust but they were allowed to explore each other before the greater meaning came to light.I look forward to more in this series, especially after the last chapter which introduced our next couple.

New series from Anna Hackett, Eon Warriors, begins with Edge of Eon. Eve Traynor is a Sub-Captain of the Space Corps incarcerated in Citadel Prison, an off Earth military prison. Convicted of crimes actually committed by her superior, the son of an admiral; mama's boy couldn't have his and his mother's careers blemished by his ineptitude. Eve's is the sacrificed career. She is given a mission to kidnap a War Commander of the Eon Empire, to try to force the Eon to come to the defence of Earth from an invading bug like alien, the Kantos. It's a suicide mission. If the War Commander doesn't kill her the Kantos will. Now she is the sacrificial lamb.War Commander Davion Thann-Eon is the greatest warrior in the Eon Empire and commander of the Desteron. On patrol the Desteron observe the Kantos attacking a Terran ship and because the ship is outside Eon space they do not interfere. Davion is scheduled to take a week long vacation on Hunter 7, his first vacation in in years. Davion is preparing to leave ship when Eve sets her kidnap plan into action.

It's refreshing to have the tables turned for once. In this instance Sub-Captain Eve Traynor is blackmailed into abducting War Commander Davion Thann-Eon. The best Warrior from a race of Warriors. And as they say, the bigger they are the harder they fall! I loved this first book in a new series which is great, but even better Space Command is hedging their bets and also blackmailed her two sisters to force the warriors to help save Earth against the invading aliens. So yay, next two books! This series is consistent with Anna's other series with an excellent plot, characters, action, suspense and romance. I really loved the world building in this one, if you don't like the weather just wait around a few hours! These new Aliens are so arrogant in their total belief in their superiority. Ha! They haven't come up against Earth women yet. Again, the bigger they are... Even though I get the ARC'S for Anna's books I always buy them on release day so that I have them for my permanent collection. Do yourself a favor and get this book to start this series. Enjoy! 💚💜💛💙

Three and a half stars. This is a collection of essays and blog-posts which really isn't my style. Please take that into account in my rating. Tucker has an interesting history tied in with the Ludwig von Misses Institute and with Libertarian thought.Overall Tucker has a style that is much to pleased with himself, I believe that he laughs at all his own jokes... a lot! This is not a terrible condition if you are actually funny; and sometimes Tucker is, but just sometimes. There is a great deal of useful information buried in this book, I like the idea of turning up the water heater to 130 degrees (it does make a difference). I also took his advice on giving up the shaving foam for a splash of baby oil (after a week my face feels better then it has in thirty years). There is also some very interesting insight into some elements of libertarian thought that I had not considered or at least not considered enough.In all my lists of "Libertarian Fiction" I never saw Garet Garrett; but I am interested in giving him a try after Tucker's reviews and comments. I am the son of an inventor; and I have a great deal of difficulty with Tucker's views on intellectual property. His arguments against IP however are both strong and solid and I feel now that I have to give this some serious thought. I will probably also pick up "Against Intellectual Property" of course that would mean trying to find a copy of "Justifying Intellectual Property " for under $50 as well. I do like authors that bring me new ideas and new books to read. There is a lot of good information and interesting thoughts in this book, you just need to do a lot of digging to find those buried treasures. If you are a free thinker, or already have a Libertarian bent this is an interesting read, but it is not for the un-initiated.

Too many would be libertarians have an Achilles heal when it comes to the role and function of government, each with his own perspective on what is essential and necessary. Jeffrey Tucker cuts through to the core with this collection of anecdotes and musings on the State and its overreach, exposing the lies that we have become accustomed to in our desire for justice, equity and protection. More often than not, it all ends up working against us, whether it is market regulation or law enforcement. From shower heads to stop signs and everything in between, Tucker humously peels back the layers of the modern Nanny State and lays bare the reality that government in any form, while altruistic in its intentions, always ends up being detrimental to the very causes for which it was created.

This book is absolutely exceptional. I submit to you that there is no other book that is as enjoyable to read about a serious subject. A really fun read covering a lot of ground in a short amount of time.You will possible want to dig deeper into some of the ideas and he gives a lot of great suggestions for further reading. Great for all independent thinkers. A lot of it was stuff I have read about already but there was a lot of new interesting thoughts for me. The chapter on copyright laws really got me thinking. Also I turned the heat up on my water heater immediately. Now I just need to find a new shower head.

One of my favorite chapters looks at the writings of Mark Twain, examining how the adventures of Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn illustrate the concept and virtue of entrepreneurship. The book covers diverse topics, all with an underlying theme advancing free markets and free association. Fun and excellent read.

Truly dedicated Lauren Conrad fans who have started the L.A. Candy series will appreciate how Lauren's writing skills seem to improve in this second part of the series. The storyline picks up more, and character situations become a little more interesting. The only critical review I have about Sweet Little Lies, is that each chapter in the beginning reintroduced the characters & their situational theme again (as it was introduced in L.A Candy). It really wasn't necessary & was somewhat annoying. I'm sure that most people who pick up the book a) know that they probably should've read L.A. Candy first, and b) The book really wasn't interesting enough to stand on it's own-- and reintroducing everything was a futile attempt. I would've rather there just be a disclaimer in the front of the book suggesting to read the books in order, than to have have to re-read an overview of each character, when they appear in the second book. A simple solution would to simply put pics of the books on one of the copy-write pages: LA Candy, Sweet Little Lies, Sugar & Spice, and The Fame Game (Coming in April). That way, those who may be reading out of order, have the choice to go back and re-read the first book(s) & those who started w/LA Candy can read through without feeling like they were reading LA Candy all over again. Again, this is probably the book (of the 3 out, so far) that will hook you & get you into the series. It's light reading, but could use a few adjustments.

The book starts a little slow... The novel touches a number of themes such as alcoholism,being with someone who abuses you, betrayal, and hipocrisy being the main theme of the novel. I loved it, it was well written, which actually came as a surprise, really. I couldn't stop reading it, I finished it in two days, and I thought that the themes that covered the novel were smart. I lot of these things actually happen in everyone's life...Brief SummaryJane goes to vacation with Madison and she spends some days with her, when she returns to L.A. and to her apartment, the drama starts again...*** SPOILERS******Jane decides she makes a wrong move, and that she's guilty,asks for his forgiveness, and returns with him. Madison keeps using Jane, while she feels guilty for using her. She decides it's best to use her, because she wants to be famous instead of making friends. We also see a side of Gaby that we haven't seen before, and Scarlett gets romantic with a guy. **** END OF SPOILERS****

I love the LA Candy series. I ready all 3 books pretty quickly, they are all a very fast read. The characters are relatable and the story is entertaining. This is a very young book so not deep but really fun to read. It was interesting to think some of the things she wrote about were true to filming a reality tv series

I enjoyed the whole trilogy. It was a little hit and miss in the last book but all around good.

This was such a good follow up to the first book in the series. The stories are funny and easy to read and they provide just enough drama to keep you entertained. I really enjoy series like this because they are light hearted and good to read anytime.

I got the first book of the L.A. Candy series for Christmas and I read it in no time. I could not resist buying "Sweet Little Lies" and I have to say I did like it a lot. It is really easy to read and entertaining. If you liked the first book, you will like the second. I don't want to give anything away from the story, but I had the feeling it had more of an ending than the first book. I haven't bought the thrid book yet, but I am sure I will some time soon! I would recommend buying the this book, if you liked the first one. It is written in the same style and the storyline develops further.

Love this book

Tried the first book because I thought it would be interesting since the author actually lived this experience. It ended abruptly, like a season finale, so I had to check out book two. I enjoyed this book. Makes me wonder how much reality there is on reality TV.Again, the abrupt ending.

The best by a mile.Anyone familiar with Explorer's Guides to Maine or Vermont knows what kind of quality to expect here, but there's a catch. This particular guide IS getting a bit out of date.Here's the thing. New Hampshire is all about heritage tourism and outdoor exploration. Those things change very little over time, so the guide still has validity despite its age. Don't expect pricing and timing information to be up to date, but recommendations are still spot on. Historical and cultural contexts are still informative and entertaining.Despite a bit of age and a lack of flashy color photography, this is your best guide to the Granite State.

In some respects, New Hampshire has it all ways. Close enough to the I-95 corridor to be in range of Boston and readily accessible to travelers, but with a surprisingly vast hinterland of forests, lakes, mountains, and small towns, all likely to be interesting to the visitor willing to explore. This Explorer's Guide to New Hampshire is just the thing to find your way around the state. The contents are a very readable mixture of traditional travel narrative and the organized information bites that modern travelers have come to expect. Clear, easy to read, and well organized, like all of Christina Tree's Explorer's Guides. It would be great if an update could be made to the restaurants and inns, but the book is valuable as is. So much simpler taking this tome along on the trip than spending hours drifting on the web.

Best travel guide I have ever read. I liked it so much that I just ordered the Explorer's Guides to Maine and Vermont. The book has everyhing about New Hampshire: history, food, antique stores, farmers' markets, establishment hours, lodging, scenic drives, places off the beaten path, et al. I am hoping that my Vermont and Maine guides measure up because Ms Tree and Hamm have set a pretty high bar with this one. I will be visiting New Hampshire this fall for the foliage viewing and I am well versed in what New Hampshire has to offer. Well done!

I chose this book as I am considering making a move, not just taking a vacation. It gives me a sense of the variety of landscapes in New Hampshire. Until I find a book that is called, "Where to move to in New Hampshire", this is a good reference. It'a a start.

This collaboration between New York Knick guard Glenn ("Doc") Rivers and award-winning YA author Bruce Brooks avoids those and other pitfalls, but early on it appears as if it's not going to avoid an even worse trap: metaphors. When Brooks, the author of The Moves Make the Man and other meaning-laden sports novels, launches into an elaborate analogy comparing Rivers' teammate John Starks to jazz saxophonist Sonny Rollins (whom most teens won't know from Sonny Bono), we immediately want to take cover, fearing that metaphors as large as hailstones will soon be littering the pages. Fortunately, Brooks quickly backs off, turning the proceedings largely over to Rivers, out of whose mouth pour not metaphors but insights: about the game and the players, about competition, about race, about maturity, and about what it feels like on the court. Listen: "The pressure's on, you've got maybe eighteen seconds, you look around and catch a couple of quick glances, you see a defensive guy's feet stutter a little, you sense his man move, you spin and pass, and skoosh!
