I'm pregnant with our first baby, so I was excited to stock up on all the baby books. This book is cute and funny , but honestly my husband doesn't read it. If he takes a baby book in the bathroom with him, it's usually a 'real' book so he can learn what to expect and how to care for me and a newborn. Cute as a gift for an expecting couple, but I wouldn't recommend buying it for yourself or partner.

I bought this for my husband since I had my book, he could have his. Thought it would be a cute fun read for him. My husband read it, didn't really like it. He would rather read my 'what to expect book'. His comments were that this book did lack information, kind of made light of the fact that your wife is pregnant and made fun of the idea she would be reading so much to learn about what to expect and how to be prepared. My husband didn't appreciate the 'humor' suggesting you should have a beer to make things more 'bearable' at home, suggesting that your wife and kids are nagging you all the time.Love the idea that I gave my husband literature that suggests I'm nagging him. This is an exciting time for BOTH of us, my husband actually CARES about what changes we are going through together. No where does this book tell a man to, out of consideration for your wife... maybe keep the toilet clean without asking since she may be sick everyday.In my husbands words, this book is for all those men who try hard at being 'nice guys' but are really *******. So... if that's your man, or what you are hoping for... I'm sure he'd love this book, but doubt he'd read it. The only men who read this book are the ones who actually want to be involved. Disappointing the book takes everything so lightly.

Bought this for my husband to read while I read the actual "what to expect" book. I knew it would have a humorous tone, which is why I thought he'd like it. He does think it's funny but he says it leans a little too far to the comedy side and lacks the informative aspect that he was hoping to get. He didn't even come close to finishing it. It also sounds like the information given is a little bit dramatic in perspective and/or maybe not painting a totally accurate full picture. If you're looking for something that actually guides partners on pregnancy information and pregnancy support, I would recommend purchasing a different book.

This book is not useful in the least. My husband genuinely wants information to help prepare himself and to help me during this pregnancy, and this book doesn't provide much real information at all. I don't understand why there are so few books out there that don't imply men are neanderthals who only care about watching sports and sitting on the couch all day long. It is a darn shame.

If you want something more in-depth, keep looking. When expecting our first baby, I tried searching for a "man" version of What to Expect When You're Expecting, and found this instead. My husband had found What To Expect When She's NOT Expecting very helpful as we dealt with infertility, so we were hoping to find something similar now that we actually were expecting (finally!!). It said it was a parody so I knew it wouldn't be the exactly what I was looking for, but hopefully close. I bought this for my husband thinking it would be funny, but still full of good, useful information. After scanning it, I was less enthusiastic about giving it to him. He enjoyed a few of the jokes, but ultimately preferred to read my pregnancy books instead because they were more informative and actually helped him understand the pregnancy process my body was going through. Contrary to the title, the book doesn't really tell you "what to expect" - just makes a bunch of jokes about pregnant wives. Some are definitely funny, but be aware of what you're getting.This books seems more in the genre of a little joke book you'd put in your guest bathroom rather than a humorous and helpful pregnancy book for expecting fathers.

This was a very disappointing book. I feel like the guy who wrote this assumes that all men are all stereotypical idiots that are incapable of common sense. Its actually quite sexist towards men. I think it was supposed to be funny, but its just not. It's corny.. and im not the kind of person who gets offended by jokes or whatever either... it just didn't do a very good job of relating to the average man. Its like the book tried too hard. Oh well.. ill find another one to learn from. On a side note, it DID have info that was occasionally useful, but you had to sift through the BS to find it.

This book really doesn't tell you anything worth reading and only mentions a bit about what is said in the best selling legitimate books. For me all the comedic ranting wasn't worth the time to read as it wasn't even all that funny. Also, I wanted to know cold hard facts about pregnancy, what she goes through, what I can do, etc. as this was our first child. If you would rather understand what to really expect so you can do your best to more supportive, compassionate and loving through your pregnancy, do not purchase this book. The author of this book has a huge ego and the text is really wrapped around him impressing himself with all his witty little quips, snide commentary and run-on sentences. There is a reason this book is so short, it really serves no point. Again, please do not purchase. Save your money for a legitimate pregnancy book.

I bought this book back in 2011 and have read it every day for the last couple of years. This book has brought me closer to God through the Saints. This is the real book. The earliest copyright is 1878. This is a wonderful book written indeed by Father Alban Butler. The reflections alone are worth reading. Only the Saints on pages 393-422 were not written by Father Butler because they became Saints after his death. I really loved reading this book and I highly recommend it. Don't buy the updated version this is the only one you need!

I really like reading the saint of the day in this book and I also like the reflections at the end of each section, however, I didn't realize when I bought it that these daily saints are based on the old liturgical calendar. I think I might have hit the jack pot with the modernized version. I decided to go with this one because it had a higher rating--

Many people argue whether Francisco Franco (1892-1975, he died at age 82) was a good or bad man, helpful to Spain and its people or a man who pursued self-interest, whether he was intelligent or barbaric. Some praise him for saving the country from Communism. Others stress that he rode the coattails of Hitler and Mussolini to power, which he misused, a man who felt his own way was the only right way, who stressed the “Christian Civilization” even on his death bed. He insisted on the “traditional role” for women, meaning they were restricted to only certain tasks.Hourly History gives us good information about this man. Among much else, we learn that: He was the longest running dictator in history. He was the dictator of Spain for 36 years. He was a borderline fascist. He killed many of his opponents, between 15,000 and 50,000 people. He tried to control Spain even after his death.

Although understanding that a biography can not easily be disclosed in depth in a 40 minutes reading book format, I must say that, in my opinion, this is just a "political correct" focused work, well far away from the actual biography of the subject. You can feel this approach after the first 10 lines. Many and important events from different sides missed(?)absolutely critical to understand that difficult time in Spain,s History.Everybody knows that General Franco was a dictator for 36 years. There is no much more deployed in this work that could help to understand the dictator,s personality besides de classic cruelty in the aftermath of the war and those things.Dissapointing.

Though not quite a 5 star rating, this overview of Spain's Franco is somewhere between 4 and 5 stars. Nicely written and informative, a nice view of a piece of history. The man, Franco, contending he was a supporter of Christendom, was rather UN-Christian-like in his rise to power, was an able military man, sometimes Statesman and conflicted human being. As with almost any country, the introduction of some form of a free-market process usually improves a country's economics, as is the case with Spain under Franco in his waning years. Great man? Not so sure, but a couple of things in his favor; his resistance to Hitler and his slowly giving into the idea of a democracy.

Sums up his life rather succinctly but (somehow) just does not leave the reader with a clear 'picture' of the man himself.Could also do with better proof-reading to clear up a bunch of grammatical mistakes in the use of words, punctuation, etc....

Ruthless yet effective would be a succinct version of the book. Most writers and arists, coming as many do from the leftist fringe, have focused on the period of the Spanish Civil War and Franco's seldom-denied harshness. The book does well in showing those 4 years as part of a 40-year strategy of keeping Spain out of foreign entanglements. An excellent short biography.

Although well written, this Hourly History Book is almost exactly like another Hour History Book titled Spanish Civil War. Both books tells how Hitler, Mussolini and Stalin interfered with the War. They tested their weapons and personnel during The Spanish Civil War.

A short but thorough history of Franco, the man ,the leader The Spain !He was quite brilliant and wary of outsiders.Courted by both the Axis Powers and the Alies, he was able to stay somewhat neutral and survive.

Clearly written, interesting, succinct story of Spain's brutal military leader and dictator during Spain's civil war, through WWII, and his death in 1975. This book, coupled with Hourly History's book on the Spanish Civil War provide an excellent overview on Spain from the 1930s to 1975.

What a valuable and powerful book written by Evangelist John Ramirez. In his new book, "Armed and Dangerous", John Ramirez has given me detailed and easy to read instructions on how to win any Spiritual warfare. In the book, John Ramirez gives step by step approach to exposing and defeating the enemy's tactics and plans that has been easily overlooked or hidden. As an Ex-devil worshipper, John Ramirez has the understanding and personal experience to explain in great detail how I can defeat the enemy in any situation for me, my family, and my loved ones. I love the prayer pages that John Ramirez included throughout his book. This is very helpful coming from a general in God's army. These prayers are powerful tools that I can use. I am declaring them during my prayer time. This book is definitely written from his heart. Very touching and sincere. It does move me to know that he wants to help the believers today fight the unseen evil realm. I have recommended this book to numerous friends and co-workers who are struggling with circumstances which they cannot seem to break free from. I know without a doubt this book will help them because it has changed me. What sets this book apart is that you are instructed and provoked to action! You are not given a bunch of "head knowledge" meaning, you are equipped to deal with your situations. I've read all three of John Ramirez's books now and I have to say that this book was even more powerful than the other two he's written. (I still recommend the other two as well.) I will be re-reading this book again and again to get a grip on the principles it contains and make use of the powerful prayers he lays out for all Christians who are tired of being defeated and running from the enemy. It's time for those who love Jesus Christ to take back the territory that's been stolen and fight for our victory. This book will inspire and equip you to do just that!

By far, this has to be my favorite book written by John Ramirez! Since all of his books are absolutely awesome, this says alot. He gives great strategies for spiritual warfare, which every Christian needs to know in order to defeat the enemy of our soul. We need to be prepared for battle, and this book does not leave anything out; it is complete with powerful information that is needed. I bought books for my family and friends so that they can become the warriors that God created them to be in order to live a victorious life. This is a must read for those who are serious in their walk with Christ and need a battle plan for victory in their life.
