How about re-writing a Version 2.0? This is so outdated I feel like i've been warped back to 1985.

My son has a BS in finance and is bent toward the pizzeria business. He manages two now and liked the book. He initially said "I know all that", but I've seen him actually reading it. Progress, not perfection!

I really loved this one.. If you are on the subject and need some source book that tells about every aspect of the business, and is written by some very competitive person, here is the book you should read. I am in business life since more than 25 years, and this book really changed my horizon. Very very successfull. If you plan to go into this business, or you are currently running one, take your time, read this one. You will not regret a moment of your time spent on this book. Very hard to navigate this book but it contains a ton of information about routes you cannot find anywhere else. Thank Tony!

Since this guidebook is the only one available for climbing in Wadi Rum, it's a must for anyone who needs a comprehensive source of information for climbing there. But this book is clearly outdated. Route descriptions are generally bad, especially for approach. Many routes are missing, although both topos and description can be found elsewhere. Basically no serious effort to stay up to date was done for nearly 20 years. It's a pity, since the place is one of the best and unique spots on the planet.

Used this book for a climbing trip in 2013 and it was great. There is apparently a new area with new steep sport climbing that is not in the book, perhaps they will be published in a newer edition.

I bought the first edition in 1994 when we trekked in Wadi Rum with our baby of 4 month. It's was helpfull.Wadi Rum is tucked away in the south of Jordan, close to the Red Sea port of Aqaba, remote and splendid in both landscape and culture, yet only a five-hour flight and a short onward journey from Europe.Here are detailed descriptions and 'topos' of all the known routes to date, from short walks, camel treks and 4-WD journeys through sports climbs and major 'big walls' of the highest technical difficulty.Additionally the author gives information on sites of antiquity, flora and fauna and life with the Bedouin. It is their roguish humour and warm hospitality as much as the magnificence of these deserts and mountains that make a visit to Rum a unique experience. This book tells you everything you need to know.It is a remote and spectacular landscape, offering unlimited rock for the pioneer, as well as many superb existing routes of all grades of difficulty, while the desert and numerous "siqs" or canyons offer a wilderness experience not to be found anywhere else in the world. The wealth of experience is further increased by the Bedouin whose homeland this is, and by the variety of wildlife to be found in the area. It is hoped that this book will allow others to savor the solitude and mystical magic of these deserts and mountains.

About the Author

In the early 1940s, a loving father crafted a small, blue, wooden engine for his son, Christopher. The stories that this father, the Reverend W. Great little box set. The stories are simple and cute and keep will keep my train loving 2-year old interested. The price can't be beat as it is below the listed price at Barnes & Noble.

My 3 year old son LOVES Thomas and Friends. He actually loves any type of train. Before bed, he chooses one of these books to read. Sometimes I have to make him choose another because we've read these so much. He's even memorized some of the parts. I would definitely recommend this to be added to a child's collection. I really like the nice little box they are stored in. It helps to teach my son how to put things away when he's done with them and the value of taking care of his things.

I was so delighted when I found this super cute box set for my son! I purchased it when he was around 20 months old, and he was thrilled to have a little case that was just the perfect size for him. Honestly, for the price this just can't be beat! The stories aren't very long, but for us they're the perfect length to go through all four at bedtime. As some of the other reviewers have stated, we also found "blue train, green train" to be our favorite story...there are lots of fun things to have them point out as you read in that one. "Go train, go" (which my little boy loves saying throughout the story) and "A crack in the track" are our next favorites...he seems overly concerned about that crack haha, and I like the message at the end! "Stop train, stop" would have to be the one I enjoy reading the least, but honestly, I still see him looking over the book on his own and enjoying it. I'll forgo my own entertainment any time for the sake of instilling a love of books and reading in him. He's only 25 months now, so his enjoyment comes from how much life I put into reading the stories to him, and engaging him to learn about what's in the pictures. The pictures are bright and the board books are strong... everything is still intact and he is not exactly a gentle one! I would absolutely repurchase this set, or give as a gift to the Thomas and Friends lover. Please let me know if this review was helpful for you!

My little guy is obsessed with Thomas and Friends. We got this set when he was about 14months old, after we borrowed "Stop! Train! Stop!" from the library, and he couldn't get enough of it. It comes with 4 board books, "A Crack in the Track", "Stop! Train! Stop!", "Go! Train! Go!", and "Blue Train, Green Train". These are the abbreviated versions of the picture books of the same names. At first I was worried that they wouldn't be as good, but I found that they work better for his attention span, and, in some cases, like "Blue Train, Green Train" had better rhythm and clearer parallels in the wording. There is some rhyming, but not in all the books, the stories do have a nice rhythm (though sometimes certain phrases are repeated too quickly and feel a little lazy). Not high literature, but still nice little books.I will say, however, that this set's print edition seems to be of a slighter lower quality than the older board book from the library. The pictures are slightly blurrier, but are still clear enough. I probably wouldn't have noticed if I hadn't had the library's copy right next to it.Our little guy loves this set. He likes to bring us the books, then run and grab the trains corresponding to that story. He'll point out the different trains and objects, wave when the characters wave, moo when the cows moo, and show us his toy Thomas or Percy during "Blue Train, Green Train".The box itself held up fairly well for a while (sturdy cardboard with strong Velcro closure and plastic strap handle), but has become a bit beat up over the past couple months. Our toddler likes to stick his trains in it and carry them around before dumping them out again. The velcro is so strong that he needs to use a lot of force to open it... Which often results in it flipping itself shut again. This can be funny to watch, until he starts getting frustrated, then it's a little sad.. But still a little funny. Overall a great set, especially for the price.

These books are smaller than I was expecting, but they are awesome! They are very well made, and the pictures and colors in the little books are wonderful! I got these for my nephew for part of his birthday gift, and when they arrived I immediately bought a set for my son! Worth every penny!

I got this as a Christmas gift for my youngest (2 years). He like trains, and I like my boys to have books. The books are sturdy board books, but the print is smaller than I expected. There are also a lot more words than I expected for board books, but the stories are simple and the colors are bright.I did not give this 5 stars only because the box closes with velcro. This wouldn't normally be an issue, but this velcro is stupid strong. As an adult I had to fight to get it open. My son could not do it at all. Unfortunately, he became more interested in getting mama or papa to open the velcro (and "Oooo!" at the attendant loud noise) than play with or look at the books. I'm all for a sturdy closure, but something for a child should be able to be opened by a child.

This was a great buy for my 3yo daughter who loves trains. The set itself comes in it own carrying case with handle. The lid is secured with a Velcro tab. Once you open the books you have 4 Hard in the carrying case. Each book has about 10-15 pages. Pictures are just like cartoon itself. All the characters have parts in each story. These books are sturdy enough for children ages 1 and up. With enough words to keep even older children entertained. Great value for the money and i would purchase more sets like this in the future. With a price like this its worth grabbing for a gift to keep just in case.

This book gives clear, precise instructions on how to celebrate Kwanzaa. It details the materials needed and explains the principles. Recommended for all who desire a proper guide into celebrating Kwanzaa.

It was a big help story telling is a part of Black American History, it worked great along with music

Our school does not celebrate Kwanza. This book gave me the the opportunity to let my students know the meaning behind this tradition.

I would recommend this to parents of young children and teachers as well. A great addition to my personal library.

During Kwanzaa families often make homemade gifts for each other. For example, during Kwanzaa my daughters and wife painted portraits for me and I made bracelets for them. Kwanzaa encourages the making of gifts so that the family can use their natural kuumba, creativity. More than that, the gifts that I received during Kwanzaa from my offspring and spouse meant so much because they came from the heart. If you want your family to have this kind of experience, I high recommend The Children's Book of Kwanzaa. The book gives some background information on Kwanzaa and its history.
